Before Pennsic, HRM Duke Timothy of Arindale, issued a challenge to the knights of the Known World to join him on the field to test, train, and instruct all challengers. The purpose of the Chivalry Challenge was to encourage fighters who aspire to knighthood and provide them an opportunity
to train with the best. Over the course of two days, July 30th and July 31st, over 40 knights, including Royal Peers and several seated monarchs, from at least 6 Kingdoms answered the call and took the field. A number of those who participated fought both days of the challenge.
During the sixteen hours that HRM and fellow knights held the field, over 100 unbelts tested their mettle and learned from some of the best fighters in the Society. Fighters who hung around towards the end of each day were able to receive extensive one on one training from HRM Duke Timothy, HRM Duke Ragnvaldr, King of the Middle, Sir Thomas Byron of Haverford, Duke Titus Scipio Germanicus, Sir Havoc the Wild, and others.
According to HRM Duke Timothy, “everyone seemed exceptionally excited by the day, and they hope we will be able to do it again next year.”
