Report of the Court of Their Royal Majesties, Timothy and Gabrielle, King and Queen of Aethelmearc, held at the Birthday Battle and Ball on the fifth day of September anno societatis 50 in the Shire of Nithgaard, Maistir Brandubh O’Donnghaile, Sigil Herald.

Morning Court:

Their Majesties invited Mistress Elizabeth Talbot to attend Them.  Mistress Elizabeth begged a boon of Their Majesties that They had set a quest for her apprentice THLady Marguerite d’Honfleur and that she had further business with her apprentice before that could happen.  Their Majesties summoned THLady Marguerite d’Honfleur forward, and Elizabeth spoke that she was free from her indenture after paying three pence and cutting their contract to void it, thus freeing Marguerite to stand on her own to answer Their Majesties.  The Order of the Laurel was invited to attend and instructed to take Marguerite to her vigil to prepare her.

Dona Caroline of Burgundy was called forth and questioned if a vigil had been prepared for her and if she was now willing to sit and hear the advice of her peers.  Their Majesties then invited the Order of the Pelican to attend and had the Order escort her to her vigil.

Their Majesties thanked all for attending, and bid all to enjoy lunch.

Evening Court:

Dame Hrefna Ulfvarinnsdottir was invited forward, along with the youths present.  Their Majesties invited all the youths present to follow Hrefna to the back of the hall to receive a bag of toys.

Lady Oribe Tsukime the autocrat was invited forward, she invited her Marshals of the day to attend.  THLord Thorvaldr Frithsamr spoke as the Heavy weapons marshal and announced that Chung Tai Ren had proven the victor of the day’s endurance tournament and offered him his choice of rattan as his prize.  THLord Aindreas mac Ghille Fhionntaigh a’ Ghaoithe Airgid spoke as the fencing marshal and announced that the first stage of the fencing tournament had been won by Maestro Basiano de Iacapo, and the winner of the second phase was Lady Arianna dal Vallone, prizes were distributed on the field.  Their Majesties then thanked Lady Tsukime and all of her staff for the lovely event.

Annora O’Duelaghane was called forward and Awarded Arms for her help at events, and skills at Archery, serving in many kitchens, feeding the staff at War Practice, and working troll at War Practice.  Scroll by Lady McKenna Henderson.

Their Majesties invited Mistress Alicia Langland forward.  Mistress Alicia spoke that she had something to present to Maitre Gilles de Beauchamps.  Alicia then produced a Pelican and Laurel medallion which had been specially commissioned for Gilles, many had contributed to its purchase and Lady Livia Valentini had produced the cord.

Vigdis THorsdottir was called forward and thanked for her efforts in recruitment, bringing an entire army with her when she joined our society.  She and those that she had recruited had given invaluable service at events and on the field, and so Their Majesties Awarded her Arms.  Scroll forthcoming.

Their Majesties called Thorstein Vigdisson forward and Awarded him Arms, for his service at events and services on the heavy field, entering crown tournament.  Scroll Forthcoming.

Eydis Vigdisdottir was brought into court and thanked for her services as a sewer, retainer, event problem fixer and deputy seneschale of Nithgaard.  For this They Awarded her Arms.  Scroll Forthcoming.

Their Majesties then Awarded Arms to Elena de la Palma for her service to the event, and as retainer.  Scroll Forthcoming.

Tasin Tresol was Awarded Arms for his skills as a tailor, serving as a retainer and assistance at events.  Scroll Forthcoming.

Lady Elyse le Bref was then called forth and presented with an Award of Excellence for her service as a medallion maker extraordinaire.  She had made 124 award medallions for the Aethelmearc court and even more to give away to other kingdoms as largess.  Scroll by Master Jonathan Blaecstan.

Mistress Phiala O’Ceallaigh was invited forward and inducted into the Order of the Cornelian for her calm grace, inspiration, kindness, and ability to quiet the loudest of voices.  Scroll by Meisterin Fredeburg von Katzenellenbogen.

Their Majesties then announced that Vanora Grimsdotter was Awarded Arms in absentia for her works cooking at events, recruiting at demos and serving at troll.  Scroll limned by Lady Elyse le Bref and Scrivened by Lady Vivienne of Yardley.

Their Majesties further announced that Lord Bjorn inn Rauði was inducted into the Order of the Sycamore in absentia for his work in casting pewter tokens, donating them by the hundreds for households and event tokens.  Scroll by Baron Caleb Reynolds.

Their Majesties then summoned Dona Caroline of Burgundy to answer Them whether she would accept elevation into the Order of the Pelican.  The Order of the Pelican was invited forward to witness, and Their Majesties heard the words of Mistress Baga Aleea from the Laurel that she had made teaching and training others into art, Master Quinn Kerr spoke as a Master of Defense that she fiercely brought others up to her level, and Master Denys the Decadent spoke as a Pelican that her service was that of training others, to fight, to serve, and to take office.  Their Majesties then called for regalia and Dame Hrefna Ulfvarrinsdottir presented the Ancestral Pelican Medallion of Aethelmearc, Dame Vivienne Marie de Beauvais presented a personal medallion created by Don Anias Fenne, and Baron Iago Benitez Presented a hood.  Their Majesties then received Caroline’s Oath of Service, and Presented her as Dame Caroline, Mistress of the Pelican.  Scroll illuminated by Master Caoinleán Seanchaidh, scrivened by THLady Rachel Dalicieux, personalized by Mistress Cynthia Love of the Tower, upon wording by Master Quinn Kerr.

THLady Marguerite d’Honfleur was summoned into court, she did affirm that she had been counseled and that it was her wish to join the ranks of the Order of the Laurel.  Their Majesties then received the Order of the Laurel and heard testimony from Countess Genevieve du Vent Argent from the past Royalty about her grace, courtesy and hospitality, Sir Havoc the Wild spoke as a Knight upon brave journey to complete, and meticulous dedication, Mistress Alicia Langland spoke as a Pelican that she tirelessly works the hard way, ignoring advice about what might be easier, Mistress Elizabeth Talbot spoke as a laurel about her teaching, quality of workmanship, creating passion for excellence in her research of materials.  Their Majesties then called for regalia and Mistress Elizabeth Talbot presented her with a laurel medallion that Marguerite had bought for Alicia, Elizabeth had strung it with pearls, and all members of the Talbot lineage present had worn it during the day, a cape was presented by the hands of Mistress Caterina Gioacchini and Atelia Ibis, Master Tofi Kerthjalfadsson presented a wreath worn by all Laurels of the House of Talbot there present, and the ancestral Fruitcake of the Order of the Laurel was presented.  Marguerite then delivered her oath of Fealty to Their Majesties, and was then presented as Maistresse Marguerite du Ordre Laurier.  Scroll in progress scrivened by Hrefna Fruthikona Thorgrimsdottir, painted by Maistresse Antoinette de la Croix, upon words by Mistress Alicia Langland, translated by Maister Emrys Eustace.

Her Majesty Gabrielle called forward Lady Dierdre Kildare to receive her token for inspiration that day.  Lady Dierdre had created the Chocolate Strawberry Roses for Dame Caroline’s Vigil.

Their Majesties thanked all scribes who had contributed to Their Court and advised award recipients to seek them out to thank them for their donations of artwork.  They invited all to join Them at Summer’s End where rumor has it that plots to destabilize the reign might be in place.  They thanked all for coming to enjoy the spectacular day, and thanked the event staff for making it happen.
