Thus begins the Scrolls of the Reign of Magnus Tindal and Etain II, Imperatori Æthelmearc. Documented: the Business of Their Court at Coronation, 26 September Anno Societatis L, in the Shire of Heronter. As recorded by Baronsfrú Oðindisa Býkona, Fleur d’Æthelmearc Herald, assisted by Maistir Brandubh O’Donnghaile, Tabor Herald, and Brehress Gwendolyn the Graceful.

In the morning:

King Tindal invited His Princess, Etain, before him and crowned her Queen, second of that name, of Æthelmearc.

The lineage of the Kingdom of Æthelmearc was read.

Their Majesties called forward The Honorable Lady Beatrix Krieger and installed her as Captain of the Queen’s Guard. The other guards were called forward and installed.

Their Majesties called forward Meisterin Felicitas Flußmüllnerin and installed her as Their Head Retainer. The other retainers were called forward and installed.

Their Majesties received oaths of fealty and service from the Great Officers of State, the landed Barons and Baronesses, the Royal Peers, the Order of Defense, the Order of the Pelican, the Order of the Laurel, and the Order of Chivalry.

Their Majesties called forward Duke Sir Timothy of Arindale and Duchess Gabrielle van Nijenrode. Their Grace’s status as a Duke and Duchess were reaffirmed.

Their Majesties called forward Their archery champion, Lord Ru Cavorst. The tournament for his successor had been held at Shoote in the Wyldewoode at the beginning of the month. Hrolfr Fjarfell was announced as winner that day. Their Majesties thanked Lord Ru and invested Hrolfr with the regalia of that station. He was then invited to stand in Their Court.

Their Majesties called forward the Order of Defense. They spoke of one who gave many years to learning the skills and techniques of the art of defense. They talked of this person’s commitment to the teaching and support of the fencing community. Their Majesties felt this person should no longer go unrecognized and called forward Baron Iago Benitez. Their Majesties charged him to find an agreed upon date for his vigil.

There being no further business, this Court of the Majesties was suspended.

In the evening:

Their Majesties called forward Sir Thomas Byron of Haverford, Their Heavy Weapons Champion. He noted there was a tournament held for his successor. Their Majesties requested that the top five finalists come forward. Sir Otto of Westphalia, Sir Havoc the Wild, THL Thorsol Solinauga, Duke Sir Duncan von Halstern, and Sir Ariella of Thornbury were presented with tokens for their efforts in the tournament. Sir Byron noted that Duncan von Halstern was victorious in the tournament. Their Majesties then invested him with the regalia of the position and invited him to stand in Their court. Their Majesties invited the children forward. They then called Baroness Marianna Pietrosanti into court. Marianna then escorted the children outside for fun and games.

Their Majesties called forward Mistress Euriol of Lothian and Duchess Gabrielle van Nijenrode. Mistress Euriol then transfered the office of the Clerk of the Pelican over to Duchess Gabrielle.

Their Majesties called forward Lady Winardis of Borderwatch forward and read her Award of Arms scroll into the record.

Their Majesties called forward Lord Nigel of Southwood. He performed a rope trick for the audience. For this and his continued sharing of magic tricks, Their Majesties named him Court Magician.

Majesties called forward Lord Spurius Horatius Cincinattus. They noted he has served as local Knight Marshal in the Rhydderich Hael for two years and fosters new fighters. Horatius is also a ferocious fighter with tremendous melee skills, and fights with the Roman Legion at Pennsic. For this, They created him a member of the Order of the Golden Alce. Their Majesties called forward Charles McCowan. Their Majesties spoke of his work with the Known World Players at Pennsic. He has worked as stage crew, actor, and Assistant Director. Charles has given much of his time and himself to bring entertainment to the masses. For this, They created him a member of the Order of the Sycamore and awarded him Arms. Their Majesties called forward Deborah McCowan. Their Majesties spoke of her skills as a weaver and spinner. They noted that she had made her husband a great kilt, shearing the wool by hand, working it into thread and then weaving the fabric herself. She is always willing to stop what she is doing and talk about her fiber arts. For this, They created her a member of the Order of the Sycamore and awarded her Arms. The Majesties called forward Comtesse Elena d’Artois le Tailleur. They spoke of how she teaches classes on period rapier combat and attends several period practices including both rapier and longsword combat. She not only maintains a period appearance for herself, but she has also helped others do the same as well. For this, They created her a member of the Golden Stirrup. Their Majesties called forward Countess Isabeau de L’Isle. They noted they were excited to see that her arms were now amongst the banners of the royalty at Pennsic. They also spoke of her continued and courteous service as a Lady of the Rose. For this, They bestowed upon her an Augmentation of Arms of a golden rose. The scroll is a work in progress.

Their Majesties called forward Lady Aranwen ferch Rhys ap Gwaloer. They noted that she had created and gifted many beautiful items of largesse to the kingdom. For this, Her Majesty gave her a token as Aranwen had inspired her the most this day because of her generosity.

Their Majesties called forward Baron Janos Meszaros. They commented on his work as head chef of feasts and day boards and his willingness to teach others of those crafts. They remarked on the success of his food lab at Pennsic and other events. They then called forward the Most Noble Order of the Laurel and commanded him to sit vigil in contemplation of elevation to this Order.

Later in the evening:

On September 26, 2015, Magnus Tindal and Etain, Rex and Regina Æthelmearc, in open Court, expelled Dan Heyman, known in the Society as Dan of BMDL from participation in any aspect of the SCA.

On September 26, 2015, Magnus Tindal and Etain, Rex and Regina Æthelmearc, in open Court expelled Benjamin Thomas Seib, known in the Society as Pippin from participation in any aspect of the SCA.

On September 26, 2015, Magnus Tindal and Etain, Rex and Regina Æthelmearc, in open Court, expelled Derek Holton, known in the Society as Blue Star from participation in any aspect of the SCA.

There being no further business, this Court of Their Majesties was closed.
