Report of the Court of Their Majesties, Maynard and Laidain, King and Queen of Æthelmearc, held at Summer’s End in the Canton of Beau Fleuve, with Their Highnesses Gareth and Juliana, Prince and Princess of Æthelmearc, and Their Excellencies Padraig and Juliana, Baron and Baroness of the Rhydderich Hae, in attendance on the eleventh day of September anno societatis LVI, Baron Brandubh O’Donnghaile, Jewel Herald, with the assistance of THLady Sophie Davenport.
Morning Court.
Their Majesties granted leave to Their Excellencies, Padraig and Juliana, to hold a Baronial Court.
Their Majesties then summoned THLady Zosia Kowalewska to appear before Them. They noted that she still wore the belt of fealty to her Pelican, and Summoned Mistress Gillian Llwelyn of Ravenspur to come forward. Mistress Gillian took back her belt and released Zosia from her fealty. Zosia then confirmed that it was her desire to proceed. Their Majesties then called for the Members of the Order of the Pelican and asked that they take Zosia away to Vigil to offer their counsel.
Evening Court.
His Majesty opened court by noting what a beautiful day it was and that Their Majesties had truly enjoyed Themselves this day. He further noted that this day was the twentieth anniversary of a National Tragedy and invited all present to raise a glass in honor of fallen friends that we will see again in another life. His Majesty further noted that today was also another anniversary and led the populace in singing Happy Birthday to Her Majesty Liadain.
Their Excellencies Padraig and Juliana were then given leave to hold their Baronial Court.
Their Majesties thanked Their Excellencies Padraig and Juliana for being such generous hosts and presented them with a gift basket as the greatest gift is being surrounded by friends and family as They had been at Summer’s End.
Their Majesties then summoned THLord Rouland of Willowbrooke to come forward. His Majesty noted that They had not had the chance to hold a tournament to determine the Heavy Weapons Champion of Æthelmearc during Their Reign. They noted that Rouland had stood by Their side, displaying his passion and drive for Æthelmearc holding the Sword of State and supporting Them throughout the Reign. For this service to Æthelmearc, Their Majesties then named THLord Rouland as Their Champion, to stand as the Heavy Weapons Champion of Æthelmearc until Their Heirs are able to hold a tournament to find Their Champion.
Baroness Anastasie Delamour, the Kingdom Thrower General, was invited into Court. Anastasie thanked Their Majesties for the opportunity to complete some business for her office. She had issued a challenge over the summer involving a reverse royal round, with the extra challenge to compete off-handed. She then presented Plumbata to Baron Caleb Reynolds who lead the points with 89, Lady THalia Papillon with 60, THLord Abdullah al Rashid with 54 points, Baron Magnus de Lyons with 52, Baron Caleb Reynolds Off-Hand with 50, Baron Edward Harbinger with 50 points, and Kalen Karuson with 43 points.
Her Grace Siobhain inghean uí Liatháin was then summoned forth to carry the toy basket and escort the youth of the kingdom to the rear of the hall to select items of amusement.
Valen of the Rhydderich Hael was Awarded Arms in absentia for his many accomplishments in the society sewing garb, creating fencing armor, archery, bringing in more new comers, and forging lasting friendships at practices. Æthelred of Dalewude was Awarded Arms in absentia for his service to the Rhydderich Hael. He regularly demonstrates his skills with bow and arrow, and on the heavy combat lists for the glory of his Barony. Scroll in progress by Baroness Rosemund von Glinde.
Their Majesties invited all individuals attending their first royal court to come forward and presented each with a handmade cup to remember the day, and welcomed each to return and share a drink in future.
Rose D’Aubigny was called forth and Awarded Arms for her skill on the fencing list, sewing her own armor and being named most improved fencer in the Rhydderich Hael before the plague. Scroll by Lady Serena Milani and Mistress Liadain ní Chléirigh na Coille.
Lord Dark Oak was invited into Their Majesties court, and They presented him with a Gratia Coronae token for his carving skills. Lord Dark Oak had presented the kingdom with 400 hand carved wax seals for various officers, order clerks and marshals during the time of the great plague. Their Majesties had assisted Lord Dark Oak with distributing many of the stamps to those in attendance that day.
Their Majesties called forth Bernadette of the Rhydderich Hael and Awarded her Arms for her long service in the Barony helping wherever the need arises, cleaning, cooking, carrying, and moving any manner of thing. THLady Edith of Winterton was called forward and His Excellency Brandubh O’Donnghaile begged the boon to speak to this good Lady. His Excellency expressed his thanks to Edith for her service as College of Heralds webminister, and in fact the thanks for Silver Buccle Heralds Kameshima Zentaroua Umakai, Sophie Davenport, Brandubh O’Donnghaile, and Jorundr hinn rotinn, all of whom she served as webminister, and during the tenure of Master Brandubh she had moved the entire heralds site to a new server updating code, and carrying all links, emails, and files in a single week. Their Majesties were so pleased to hear this report that They presented her with the Æthelmearc Award of Excellence in appreciation for her herculean labors.
His Majesty then called for His Bard, Lord Gavin Kent. As promised His Majesty shared a drink with Lord Gavin, but He noted that there was another reason that he was in court. Gavin brings joy and light wherever he goes whether performing as a bard or providing background music for others, and for his generosity with his talents, Their Majesties inducted him into the Order of the Cornelian. Lord Tadeusz of the Rhydderich Hael was inducted into the Order of the Golden Alce in absentia for his skills in Archery. He stood as Archery Champion of the Rhydderich Hael, and took home the 7 Pearls archery championship for the Hael. Their Majesties inducted Lady Logan Lotta d’Kent into the Order of the Sycamore in absentia for her skills in the bardic arts. Lady Sarafina de Lucca was called forward and Their Majesties presented her with a scroll commemorating her induction into the Order of the Keystone that had been previously given at an online court by Their Graces Timothy and Gabriel. Scroll by THLady Vivienne of Yardley.
Lady Katelyn Rose was inducted into the Order of the Keystone in absentia for her work in the background supporting others, cooking and washing dishes, eagerly assisting with sewing garb and other textiles. Scroll by THLord Owen Tegg.
Lord Chebe was then called into Their Majesties’ Court. Their Majesties thanked him for his donation of the new pole axes that he had created for Their Guards. Lord Chebe was also commonly found serving on the Royal Guard. For these contributions, Their Majesties inducted him into the Order of the Golden Thorn.
Their Majesties invited Mistress Liadain ní Chléirigh na Coille to come forward. They thanked her for her contributions to the Æthelmearc Scribal College, acting as Dean, scheduling classes and recruiting teachers, moving pavilions, and still creating scrolls. For this it pleased Their Majesties to induct her into the Order of the Millrind. THLady Zosia Kowaleska was summoned into Court, and after confirming that she wished to proceed, Their Majesties summoned forth the Order of the Pelican who confirmed that they had given their counsel and would see Zosia added to their number. Their Majesties then heard the words of Viscountess Susan of Foxmeadow as a Royal Peer, Lady Sarafina de Lucca from the populace, Baroness Ekaterina Volkova spoke as a Jewel of Æthelmearc, Sir Vlad Hideg of Caid spoke for the Chivalry, Master Benedict Fergus atte Mede spoke from the Order of Defence, Mistress Sthurrim Caithnes spoke for the Laurel and Mistress Gillian Llwelyn of Ravenspur spoke for the Pelican. Their Majesties were pleased by the words of praise for Their Subject Zosia, and so They called for regalia to mark her as a Pelican. Their Majesties presented the ancestral Medallion of the Pelicans of Æthelmearc, Mistress Gillian Llwelyn of Ravenspur presented a personal medallion, and Baroness Juliana Rosalia dolce de Siena presented a second personal medallion. Mistress Gillian Llwelyn presented a cloak, Their Majesties placed a cap of Maintenance upn her head, and called for a shield and a lariat of truth for this wonder woman. Their Majesties then received her oath of Fealty to the Crown and Kingdom of Æthelmearc, and presented Dame Zosia, Companion of the Order of the Pelican to the populace. Their Majesties summoned Baron Pádraig Ó Branduibh and Baroness Juliana Rosalia Dolce da Siena to attend Them. They presented each with a Gratia Coronae Token for their leadership of the Rhydderich Hae during these adverse times.
THLady Eleanore Godwin was called into court and presented with the Æthelmearc Award of Excellence for her generous donations to the Kingdom’s Largesse.
Lord Robaird Michael Patrick Timothy James O’Suilleabhainn was called before Their Majesties and praised for his long leadership and support of the Rhydderich Hael.
