Documented from the Rolls and Files of the Coram Regibus of Thomas Byron II Rex and Ariella II Regina, King and Queen of Æthelmearc: Being a True Record of the Business of Their Royal Court at Æthelmearc War Practice XXXI, 21 May, Anno Societatis LVII, in the Shire of Steltonwald. As recorded by Gwendolyn the Graceful, Brehyres, Meistr-y-gân, Jewel of Æthelmearc Herald, assisted by Master Kieran MacRae and Lady Forveleth Dunde.

In the morning, Their Majesties inquired of The Honorable Lady Shirin al-Sussiyya if it was still her wish to sit vigil and contemplate elevation into the Most Noble Order of the Laurel. Upon her affirmation, Her Ladyship was conveyed into the care of the Order for their Counsel. Court was then suspended.

Upon the field, Their Majesties recognized all of the Youth Combatants who entered the lists for the Royal Championship with tokens of appreciation. Unto the victor, Hjotr Sigvaldison, they bestowed a prize and named him Their Champion for Youth Combat and requested that he present himself later to collect additional regalia of his station.

Court was suspended.

In the afternoon, Their Majesties issued a Temporary Removal from Participation in the Society against James McCain, known in the Society as Raven.

Court was suspended.

In the evening, Their Majesties and Their Highnesses, accompanied by Mohammad, Crown Prince of the East, welcomed The Landed Barons and Baronesses of Æthelmearc to join Them in Court.

Their Majesties enlisted Simon à Fjarfelli to conduct the Running of the Toybox for the youth there assembled.

Next, Their Majesties entreated all those attending their first Royal Court to approach and collect drinking vessels as a gesture of welcome to the Society.

Their Majesties received Mistress Alessandra D’Avignon and the company of Steltonwald to present the Banners of Friends Departed. This was followed by a moment of silent remembrance.

Their Majesties asked The Honorable Lord Alrekr Bergsson to share the results of the archery shoot to determine Their Champion. Baron Snorri skyti Bjarnarson was called forward, invested with the regalia of office, and invited to join the Court as Archery Champion. Scroll by Sir Ardan Scott.

Their Majesties also invited Baroness Anastasie de Lamoure to speak regarding the Thrown Weapons Champions’ tournament. The Honorable Lord Kumagaya Kentarou Masamoto, being victorious, was summoned forth and bestowed with the regalia of office and commanded to join the Court as Thrown Weapons Champion.

Next, Their Majesties gave leave to The Honorable Lady Vika Viborgskaya to recognize those who taught classes during the event. However, it was noted that one who taught many of the classes had not come forward to collect a token.

Thus, Their Majesties compelled Baroness Elena de la Palma to present herself before Them. Remarking on the number of lessons Her Excellency had taught at War Practice and many other events, Their Majesties sought the input of others who had a similarly high opinion of her: The Order of the Fleur D’Æthelmearc. Upon their confirmed acclaim, they inducted her into their company. Their Majesties next desired Solvej of House Helios Furion to approach the throne. By virtue of her years of quiet and tireless service, Their Majesties declared it meet and proper that she join the nobility and thus Awarded her Arms. Scroll by Baron Caleb Reynolds.

Tara of Hornwood to come before the Royal Presence. Citing diligent service to her shire and to the Scarlet Guard Inn and archery community, they were pleased to Award her Arms. Scrolls by The Honorable Lady Gesa von Wellenstein with wording by Gwendolyn the Graceful Brehyres.

Next, Their Majesties requested of Baron Cunedda Kell and Baroness Alana of the Horseclans, Baron and Baroness of Blackstone Mountain, that they convey unto Natalia Nighteskias, on Their Majesties’ behalf, their desire to Award her Arms and count her among the nobility of the kingdom. Their Majesties sought The Honorable Lady Erzebet Fauconneau and desired words with her. Taking good note of her unfailing courtesy, They were moved to name her a Companion of the Order of the Cornelian. At this time, Their Majesties observed The Honorable Lord Cassiano da Castello serving bar at the rear of Court and summoned him to join Them. They spoke with him of his many talents, but chiefly that he was before them this day for his efforts in the fencing list, and finding it worthy of recognition, they named him a Companion of the Order of the Golden Alce. Following this, Their Majesties also called Lady Simonetta D’Alfassi before Their presence. Seeing Lady Simonetta’s skill for its superiority and scintillating service to the scribal arts, the Sovereigns signed and sealed a scroll to substantiate that she might style herself an associate of the Order of the Sycamore. Next, Their Majesties required the presence of Lady Aurelia Argentia Prima, whereon They spoke with her about her unparalleled contributions to the Moneyer’s Guild, as well as her jewelry, scribal arts, and other creative prowess. They once again called for the attendance of the Noble Order of the Fleur D’Æthelmearc, that with their acclaim, they might confer upon her the badge of that order and Grant her Arms. Their Majesties then welcomed The Honorable Lady Aaliz de Gant. They noted her service to the Equestrian community, as well as her many efforts on behalf of the Shire of Steltonwald, including her service as event steward for War Practice. They also remarked upon the corroboration of others who had found her service to be worthy of recognition and thus commanded that Their Noble Order of the Millrind join Them and greet her as their newest Companion  Scroll by The Honorable Lady Gesa von Wellenstein upon wording by Baron Caleb Reynolds.

Their Majesties next entreated Lady Dominique von Weißenthurn to approach. They spoke with this good lady of her flawless attention to her presentation from head to toe, appearing in all ways as a perfect example of an historical lady. In recognition of her commendable and praiseworthy display of living history, They were minded to induct her into the Order of the Golden Mirror. Promissory scroll by Burgo the Bad Kitty.

Next, Their Majesties invited Mistress Ysabel Graver to present herself before the throne. With words of esteem and accolade for her continued service to the archery community and the regard in which they hold her, Their Majesties were moved to induct her as a Companion of the Order of the Scarlet Guard. At this time, Their Majesties received The Honorable Lady Shirin al-Sussiyya for the purpose of hearing her answer whether she would join the Most Noble Order of the Laurel. Upon hearing her desire to proceed, They did consult other notable Peers for their testimony. Duchess Juliana Delamare, Royal Peer and Rose, spoke of the ways in which Shirin inspired others. Duke Gareth Kincaid noted her quality, displayed in her conduct as Signet, addressing both peer and populace with courtesy and kindness. Duke Malcolm MacEoghainn, Knight, attested to her leadership, courage, and willingness to serve where there was need; Master Fredeburg von Katzenellenbogen, in representing the Order of Defense, cited her fearlessness in stepping in immediately upon becoming a subject of the kingdom, and the immediate impact that she had upon her office and the scribes of the realm. Mistress Antoinette de la Croix, Pelican, also spoke of the impact and the influence she had, demonstrating how many among the populace she had touched or worked with. Mistress Alicia Langland, representing the Jewels of Æthelmearc, testified to the love for the Society that runs through her heart; and Mistress Graidhne ni Ruaidh, on behalf of the Laurels, asserted her dedication to teaching and sharing her skills and instilling those skills in others. Hearing these words of support, Their Majesties were well minded to impart unto her the symbols of her Peerage, and to receive her oath of service, and to direct the Order of the Laurel to greet her as a Mistress of the same. Following this, Their Majesties required that Sir Michael of Northwood attend Them. For his long service to the Watch at Pennsic, as well as years of contribution to the marshalate, They saw fit to issue him with a Writ of Summons to contemplate induction into the Most Noble Order of the Pelican, at a time to be mutually agreed. Their Majesties also called upon The Honorable Lady Ottilige Rappoltsweiler to present herself. Speaking of her considerable skill and artistry in the field of cookery, including the menus she devised and executed for the Æthelmearc Queen’s Tea among many other occasions, Their Majesties recalled the Most Noble Order of the Laurel, and instructed Her Ladyship by Writ of Summons to name a date on which she might sit vigil to contemplate elevation into that company. Her Majesty beseeched Karsten the Black to step forward and accept Her token as Her inspiration of the event, for his service and assistance in setting up the Royal encampment.

Their Majesties recognized all scribes who contributed to the Court that day and invited them to partake of supplies to replenish their inventories.
