Court Report Bog Twelfth Night 1/21/23

Here begins the Report of the Court of Their Majesties Arnthor and Ceirech, King and Queen of Æthelmearc, at St. Swithin’s Bog Twelfth Night, joined by Jean Phillippe and Catherine, Baron and Baroness of St. Swithin’s Bog, January 21 AS 57, jorundr hinn rotinn, Silver Buccle Herald, reporting.

Their Majesties demanded the presence of Baron Gunther Grunbaum. He was bade to take the Kingdom toy chest and find the youth of the Kingdom so that they might take gifts from it.

Their Majesties gifted mugs to all the newcomers and welcomed them to the Society.

Their Majesties granted leave to Their Excellencies of St. Swithin’s Bog to conduct Their Baronial Court.

Their Majesties called for Eliza Allison. Her assistance at events, and prolific pictures preserving our history pleased Their Majesties. For this They Awarded her Arms. Scroll Pyrography by Arvik Hyttoinen with calligraphy by Ragnhilda Manadottir.Their Majesties inducted Lord Joubert de la Rose into the Order of the Golden Alce in abstentia for his skill in rattan combat. His work during the lockdown period helped bring Society to those that could not make it themselves, he created a video to send to newcomers, and he made cloaks for many of the Bog’s children along with sheet walls for the Baronial encampment. For this Their Majesties inducted him into the Order of the Keystone. Scroll by Bog Scribes.Their Majesties called for Baroness Catherine de Troyes and Baron Jean Phillippe Dit Barbe Rousse. Her skill in recreating period food is a delight, and his skill in forming weapons out of rattan is artistry, as is his teaching of that skill. Thus, Their Majesties felt it right to induct both of them into the Order of the Sycamore. She is the type of person that can always spot the person not having fun, and bring them into the group, so that everyone has more fun. Their Majesties inducted Lady Aurelie of Nithgaard into the Order of the Cornelian in abstentia for her constant courtesy and kindness. Scroll by the Ætt Skyti Scribal Guild.Their Majesties called for Lady Svava of St. Swithin’s Bog to present herself before Them. She serves as Debatable Lands Chatelaine and has planned demos as she is trying to revamp the way we approach recruitment and retention. She also serves as a marshal frequently. For this Their Majesties were pleased to induct her into the Order of the Millrind. Lord Arvik Hyttoinen was called to present himself before Their Majesties. His skill and support of the thrown weapons community had caused a certain group to speak to Their Majesties about him. Thus, They felt moved to induct him into the Order of the White Horn. Scroll by Amalie Reinhardt.Their Majesties called for the scribes, wordsmiths, and regalia wrights to choose a gift from the scribal goodie box to thank them for their hard work in producing items for Court.

Their Majesties thanked everyone for attending and invited everyone to prepare for Pennsic 50 this summer.

Court Report: Queen’s Rapier Champion Tourney, April 8, A.S. 57

Here begins the report of the Court of Andreas Morgan and Kallista Morganova, Second of those names, 50th King and Queen of Æthelmearc at Queen’s Rapier Championship and Equestrian Games held within The Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands, April 8th AS 57. Po Silvertop, Jewel of Aethelmearc Herald reporting, with the assistance of Gytha Oggsdottir, Silver Sycamore Herald

Their Majesties welcomed all those who attended and bade them enjoy the day-
Their Majesties then received the procession of Rapier Combatants who wished to Fence for the honor of being considered Her Majesty’s champion- each received a rose from Her hand.
Court was then suspended.

…Upon the conclusion of Her Majesty’s Rapier Championship Tourney:

Her Majesty called before Her Her Order of the White Scarf, and spoke of Her love of the artform- She complimented all who took the field but wished to speak of one in general- and thus bade Lady Lucia Augur to attend Her. Upon asking Don Jehan LeBlanc to release Lady Lucia from her cadet commitment, Queen Kallista created her a member of the Order of the White Scarf – Dona Lucia recieved multiple white scarves and a rapier belt and hanger representing her lineage. Court was again suspended…

…at evening Court:

Their Majesties invited Their Excellencies of the Barony-Marche of the Debatable Lands to hold Their court.

Their Majesties invited all the newcomers present to come forward. They were given gifts of mugs made by the artisans of the Kingdom.

Their Majesties called forward those present who were young or young-at-heart- and then chose Abby as the day’s sacrificial “runner of the toychest”.

Their Majesties requested the presence of the Autocrat, Meesteres Odriana vander Brugghe, who thanked everyone for coming and thanked her staff for assisting in making the event happen.

Their Majesties then invited THL Gesa von Wellenstein forward to discuss the day’s equestrian activities- who revealed the winner of the equestrian Joust was Lord Jordan, and that the favorite Horse was Maple.

Master Po requested time to conduct heraldic business as Jewel Herald- and presented gifts of chocolates to those who had heralded the QRC procession.

Their Majesties then asked Duke Malcolm Duncan MacEoghainn to discuss the upcoming “Garnet and Steel tourney“- a 32-slot invitational rapier tourney to be held in the future. Duke Malcolm presented Queen Kallista with the first of the 32 entry coins, as well as a coin for the day’s QRC winner.

Their Majesties invited Duke Ragnarr Blackhammer and Shaykha Jan al-Tha’lab before them as envoys from the Kingdom of Atlantia, and received gifts from that neighboring Kingdom.

Master Cyrus Augur was called forward to discuss the Cut and Thrust tourney results: Naming Don Jorundr Hinn Rotinn as the winner and therefore the Sylvan Cut & Thrust Champion. Their Majesties invited Don Jorundr to join them as part of Their Court.

Reigning Queen’s Rapier Champion Don Nicolo Loredan da Venezia was called before the Crown to discuss the day’s rapier tourney… Many had fenced cleanly with honor and grace- and one stood victorious. Her Majesty requested the victor, Master Cyrus Augur to again step forward, this time to receive the Champion’s cloak and regalia and join the Crown in Their Court. (scroll by Mistress Arianna of Wynthrope).Their Majesties requested Jacklyn of Debatable Lands to attend Them, and for her service and equestrian abilities she was Awarded Arms. Fredericus of the Incipient College of Arx Collis was invited before the Crown and for his impressive showing in the rapier tourney and for his activities within the Incipient College, he was Awarded Arms. (Illumination by Lady Aveline del Dolce, calligraphy by Mistress Arianna of Wynthrope)

Don Mathias al Tabbai was called before the Throne for his impressive artistic endeavors and was made a member of the Order of the Sycamore (scroll by Baroness Antoinette DeLorraine)

Their Majesties demanded the presence of Baron Salvadore de La Torres– and they remarked upon his constant usefulness. For his service he was granted inclusion into the Order of the Millrind. (scroll by Mistress Sadira bint Wassouf and Master Christofano Vecchione)

Their Majesties requested to speak with Lord Balint Toth and spoke at great length about his art- the creation of beautiful metalwork and garb – and thus inducted him into the Order of the Fleur d’Æthelmearc. (scroll by Baroness Graidhne ni Ruaidh)

Their Majesties were pleased to welcome Baroness Muirgheal ingen Dubhghaill before them- They complimented her on her years of service; as Seneschal, Autocrat, and Reign coordinator, and reuested that she choose a future date within their Reign to sit vigil and contemplate elevation to the Order of the Pelican (Writ by Mistress Arianna of Wynthrope)

 

Their Majesties invited all first-time tournament fencers present to come forward and receive tokens.

Their Majesties invited all Scribes to come forward and receive gifts of appreciation for their efforts.

Their Majestioes thanked all for attending and making the day wonderful.

Court Report Debatable Lands Twelfth Night January 14

Here begins the report of the Court of Arnthor and Ceirech, King and Queen of Æthelmearc, at Debatable Lands Twelfth Night, January 14 AS 57, joined by Their Heirs Andreas and Kallista, jorundr hinn rotinn, Silver Buccle Herald, reporting, with the assistance of Lughaidh Ó Murchadha.

Their Majesties summoned Caillan and sacrificed him unto the youth of the Kingdom. His noble attempt at escape with the Kingdom toy chest was celebrated by all.

Their Majesties gifted mugs to all the newcomers in attendance and welcomed them to the Society.

Their Majesties gave leave to Their Excellencies of the Debatable Lands to conduct Their Baronial Court.

His Majesty, much to the dismay of Her Highness issued a one day lifting of the ban on the hunting and cooking of unicorns.

Lady Ascillia Attebrooke was given leave to discuss the largess competition she ran that day. The Queen’s choice was THLady Gesa von Wellenstein for her Huefalafl game, the King’s choice was Lady Gredechin Morin de Nordenberg for her Norse burial pouches, and the populace choice was Emma de Harewude for her needle book and pin cushion.

Master Rori an Coup was allowed to approach Their Majesties. He had some business with one Lord Éadaoin Ruadh. This individual has been heard committing many auditory infractions. Such as inciting the bardic arts. Master Rori felt that he could help curtail this, and presented Lord Éadaoin with an apprentice’s belt, which he accepted.

Their Majesties called for Baroness Rosheen O’Faye, the Kingdom Chatelaine. Rosheen wished to step down and had found a worthy replacement. Their Majesties allowed Rosheen to retire. Their Majesties summoned Lady Elizabeth Parker, after confirming that she wished to serve as Kingdom Chatelaine, they heard her oath and confirmed her office.

Their Majesties called for Master Uilliam mac an t’Saoir. His performance in the bardic championship pleased Her Majesty the most and so he was invested as Queen’s Bardic Champion.

Their Majesties called for Emma de Harewude. Her research into Russian garb so that he might dress herself and her husband is quite impressive. She shoots archery and takes many classes. This pleases Their Majesties, thus they Awarded her Arms. Scroll by Katherine Kiersey.Their Majesties called for Lord Niall Mac Raedwulf. His skill at archery is constantly growing, he even shot on the Champion’s team at Pennsic. For this Their Majesties inducted him into the Order of the Golden Alce. Scroll by Megge Gormshuileach.

Don Markus Skalpr Grimsson was next called by Their Majesties. He served as the Shire of Ballachlagan’s seneschal, he helps run fencing practices, he founded a Shire in the Middle Kingdom when he and his wife lived there. These are good things, and Their Majesties felt moved to make him a Companion of the Keystone for them. Scroll by Christafano with words by Sadira bint Wassouf.

Their Majesties wished to talk to Lady Ascillia Attebrooke once again. Ascillia has been a water bearer since she joined the Society. She has worked on several Reigns and is always helpful however she can be. For this Their Majesties inducted her into the Order of the Keystone. Scroll by Elizabeth of Roxbury Mill.Lord Niall Mac Raedwul’s presence was once again demanded by Their Majesties. They had heard word that Niall is an Ethereal Herald, even now projecting Their words so that many could hear them from afar. This pleases Their Majesties as Theysay many good words. Thus, They created Nial a Companion of the Keystone. Scroll by Nichola Beese.Their Majesties called for Herr Reinhard Regenbogen. His service as webminister to the Debatable Lands, and work in the scribal arts are worthy of recognition. Thus, They inducted him into the Order of the Keystone. Scroll by Scribal West.Their Majesties called for Lord Sean O’Connor. Sean works on scribal blanks for the Kingdom and Debatable Lands, and recently worked on a project to make a Norse doorway for the Pennsic encampment. These acts pleased Their Majesties thus They created him a Companion of the Sycamore. Scroll by Lisabetta de Rossi.There was a brief intermission in Court.

Their Majesties called for THLady Gesa von Wellenstein. Her hospitality and generosity in teaching people to ride and get authorized in equestrian activities is great, as is her patience. This caused Their Majesties to induct her into the Order of the Cornelian. Scroll by Lisabetta de Rossi.Their Majesties summoned THNoble Katerina das Vogelen. Katerina had been inducted into the Order of the Fleur d’Æthelmearc in 2016 but was not present at the time Their Majesties wished to resolve this by recognizing them on this day. Scroll by Jonathan Blaecstan with words by Lisabetta de Rossi.Her Highness begged a boon of Their Majesties. The Queen’s Rapier Champion poked her several times during Court and had committed numerous other infractions previously. in relation to Her Highness and Their Highness’ camp. Their Majesties were deeply shocked by this and so gathered council from the Order of the White Scarf. It was deemed that Nicolo Loredan da Venesia should be counted as one of their numbers. His skill in fencing had brought him to the notice of the Order of Defense, so They issued him a writ of summons to contemplate induction into that order. Her skill in creating Japanese clothing is great, as is her ability to teach others and get them excited about learning about Japanese clothing and other aspects of Japanese culture. For this Their Majesties issued her a writ of summons to contemplate entry into the Order of the Laurel. Scroll by Kieran MacRae.Her Majesty named THLady Harper an Cu as her inspiration for the day for her playing of the harp all day and helping set the atmosphere.

Their Majesties called for the scribes, wordsmiths, and regalia wrights to choose a gift from the scribal goodie box to thank them for their hard work in producing items for Court.

His Highness spoke about how he hoped to see everyone at Pennsic this year and announced that Æthelmearc would be fighting with the East this year.

Here begins the Report of the Court of Arnthor and Ceirech, King and Queen of Æthelmearc, at the Sylvan Glen Twelfth Night Celebration, January 7 AS 57, joined by Their Heirs Andreas and Kallista, jorundr hinn rotinn, Silver Buccle Herald, reporting.

Their Majesties called for Bruno and made him carry the Kingdom toy chest to lead the youth of the Kingdom to choose a toy.

Their Majesties called for all the newcomers, welcomed them, and gifted them mugs.

Their Majesties allowed Dame Hrefna Úlfvarinnsdóttir, the autocrat to address the populace. She wished to thank everyone for attending. The Shire of Sylvan Glen presented their tribute to Their Majesties and Their Highnesses and presented a gift to their site liaison Lady Berengaria of Leighton Buzzard to thank her for her work for the group.

Their Majesties called for Marsalli Mac Lochlainn. Her skill in fencing and her willingness to travel to learn and challenge herself pleased Their Majesties, and so They Awarded her Arms. She had made garb, her pictures of events bring joy to many, and she has donated fabric for her local group to use. These are all good things, and Their Majesties felt moved to recognize these acts of nobility by Awarding her Arms. He was Awarded Arms by Gareth and Juliana, but was not present that day, so Their Majesties wished to take a moment and thank him for everything he did and welcome him to the ranks of nobility.Their Majesties called for Mistress Alfrun Ketta. Her kindness and courtesy are an inspiration to all, and her crusade against stinky kittens is inspirational. For this Their Majesties inducted her into the Order of the Cornelian. Here begins the report of the Court of Arnthor and Ceirech, King and Queen of Æthelmearc at the Æthelmearc Holiday Shoot in the Shire of Hunter’s Home, December 10 AS 57, jorundr hinn rotinn, Silver Buccle Herald, reporting.

Their Majesties thanked everyone who attended the event and the Shire of Hunter’s Home for the first indoor unmasked event with the Corsi Rosenthal boxes.

Their Majesties called for all the newcomers to Æthelmearc to join Them. They welcomed them and gifted them with mugs.

Their Majesties invited the autocrats Baron Snorri skyti Bjarnarson and THLord Alrekr Bergsson. They recognized the winners of the day’s tournaments and competitions Best Crossbow Master Seamus McRay, Best Handbow Mistress Elska a Fjarfelli, and Best Period Shooter Lord Godzimir the Golden. They further thanked all the marshals of the day.

Baron Snorri skyti Bjarnarson, the Kingdom archery champion was invited to talk about the tournament for his successor held this day.  Mistress Elska a Fjarfelli won the day significantly ahead of her competition.

Her Majesty recalled Mistress Elska a Fjarfelli and presented her a token, naming her performance in the competition as Queen’s Inspiration.

Their Majesties called Lord Gnaeus Iulius Celsus and spoke of his skill in archery and fencing. They inducted him into the Order of the Golden Alce. Scroll by Amalie Reinhardt.

Mary of Hartford was next called before Their Majesties. Her long tenure in society has been marked by many classes and a love of archery. For this Their Majesties Awarded her Arms. Scroll by Rachel Dalicieux.Their Majesties summoned Lord Yakub al-Musafir. His skill at archery impressed Their Majesties. Thus, they inducted him into the Order of the Golden Alce. Their Majesties called Lord Godzimir the Golden. It was noted that Godzimir has achieved the rank of Master Bowman. They presented him with a medallion and a scroll by Mei Lan Hua.Their Majesties called all the scribes, wordsmiths, and regalia wrights to join them and choose a gift from the scribal box.

Their Majesties spoke of the impressive shots They saw that day and thanked everyone for coming out.

Here begins the report of the court of Arnthor and Ceirech, King and Queen of Æthelmearc at the Rhydderich Hael Investiture, December 17, AS 57, with the attendance of Her Highness Margerite of Ealdormere. jorundr hinn rotinn, Silver Buccle Herald, reporting.

In the morning.

Their Majesties called Ledy Genevieve O’Connor, the Baronial election steward to attend Them. Their Majesties confirmed that the election results followed all applicable laws and policies, and that it was the Barony’s wish to continue.

Their Majesties called for Baron Padraig and Baroness Juliana to present themselves. Their Majesties confirmed that it was Their Excellencies’ wish to step down, and allowed them leave to conduct Their final Baronial Court.

Upon the completion of Their final Baronial Court, Their Majesties once again called for Baron Padraig and Baroness Juliana to attend Them. They divested Them of the Rhydderich Hael coronets, and thanked them for their service to the Rhydderich Hael and Æthelmearc.

Magnus and Thalia offer their oaths of fealty.

Their Majesties called for Baron Maghnus de Lyons and THLady Thalia Papillion. Their Majesties allowed Baron Caleb Reynolds a brief moment in court to release Thalia as his protege. After confirming that it was still their wish to take up the mantle of Baronage of the Rhydderich Hael, Their Majesties heard their oath and Crowned Them 13th Baron and Baroness of the Rhydderich Hael.

Their Majesties gave leave to Their Excellencies to hold Their first Baronial Court.

Padraig and Juliana’s Court Baronies.

Their Majesties called for Baron Padraig O’Branduibh and Baroness Juliana Rosalia Dolce di Siena to once again present themselves. Their Majesties once again thanked them for their service as Baronage of the Rhydderich Hael, and named Padraig a Baron of Their Court, and reaffirmed that Julana was still a Baroness of the Court. Padraig’s scroll by Kieran MacRae, Juliana’s scroll with words by Padraig O’ Branduibh, Calligraphy by Jon Blaecstan, with Illumination by Melisande of the Gryphon Wood.

Their Majesties summoned Mistress Rowena ni Dhonnchaidh. They confirmed that it was her wish to sit vigil to contemplate entry into the Order of the Laurel, so They called for that Order to escort her out and give her council.

Mistress Rowena is sent to vigil for the Laurel.

In the Evening, with the assistance of Lady Magdalena Txoperena.

Their Majesites invited Her Highness Margerite of Ealdormere to join Them. Her Highness presented Their Majesties with a gift basket as thanks for the hospitality and as a sign of friendship between the Kingdoms. Their Majesties also presented Her Highness with a gift basket.

Their Majesties gave leave to Their Excellencies of the Rhyderich Hael to conduct Their Baronial Court.

Their Majesties called for Marcos Baltanas. They have heard much of the fencing that Marcos does, and his skill on that field. Thus They were pleased to Award him Arms. Scroll by the Ætt Skyti Scribal Guild.

Their Majesties summoned THLord Abdul Ishkhan al-Rashid to present himself before Them. Abdul has spent much time in learning the art of Turkish coffee. He strives to ever improve his brew and present it in as period a fashion as possible. This pleased Their Majesties, so They inducted him into the Order of the Sycamore. Lord William FitzWilliam was called to attend Their Majesties. His long support of the rattan fighting community, and his skill on the field caused Their Majesties to induct him into the Order of the Golden Alce. Scroll by Mei Lan Hua with words by Jehan Leblanc.

Their Majesties having heard of Maestro Filippo de Sancto Martino‘s skill in the bardic arts called him forward, They felt moved to induct him into Their Order of the Sycamore for his performances. Scroll Illuminated by Caleb Reynolds with Illumination by Ekaterina Volkova.

Their Majesties once again called for THLord Abdul Ishkhan al-Rashid. His service to the Kingdom is wide reaching, he marshals, and assists with events among other tasks. For this Their Majesties created him a Companion of the Millrind. Scroll by Katherine Kiersey.

Lord Abdul is inducted into the Order of the Millrind.

Their Majesties called for Mistress Rowena ni Dhonnchaidh. They confirmed that she wished to continue, and called the Order of the Laurel. Three Laurels gave testimony on her behalf. Mistress Brid of the East, Mistress Aine of Atlantia, and Duchess Thorkatla of Meridies Finally Duchess Rowan de la Garnisongave her testimony on Rowena’s behalf. Their Majesties then invested Rowena with medallions to mark her new station, a cloak, and a wreath. They heard her oath and named her a Member of the Order of the Laurel. Scroll by Renata Rouge.

Mistress Rowena is elevated to the Order of the Laurel.

Her Majesty named Lord Aodain Ruiadh as her inspiration for the day for his lute playing.

Their Majesties called the scribes, wordsmiths, and regalia wrights to attend Them and take a gift from the scribal goodie basket.

Their Majesties thanked everyone for attending, and remarked on how amazing the site was.

Here begins the Report of the Court of Arnthor and Ceirech, King and Queen of Æthelmearc at Fall Æcademy in the Shire of Abhainn Ciach Ghlais, November 12 AS 57. jorundr hinn rotinn, Silver Buccle Herald reporting with the assistance of Magdalena Txoperena de Guerra, Kettlinger, and Gytha Oggsdottir, Silver Sycamore Herald.

Their Majesties thanked all who attended and remarked on all the great classes offered that day.

Their Majesties called for THLord Angus the Bull and gave him the kingdom toy chest that he might assist the youth in choosing a prize.

They gifted mugs to all the newcomers to Æthelmearc.

Their Majesties invited Baron Fridrikr Tomasson av Knusslig Hamn, Baroness Orianna Fridrikskona, and Sir Beatrix Krieger to address the populace as Deans of the Æcademy and War College. They thanked all the teachers. They then called THLady Elena de la Palma, Baroness Amalie Reinhardt, and Sir Marek Viacheldrago and named them Fellows of the Æcademy. Sir Beatrix further announced that the winner of the gold chain tournament was Posadnik Zvonimir Zavodchikov.

 

 

 

The members of the Black Priory presented a gift to Their Majesties.

The members of the Shire of Abhainn Ciach Ghlais came forward to pay their taxes in the form of a gift basket.

Their Majesties called Elinor Walden to present herself before Them. She serves as a retainer and has made her own very impressive garb despite being new to the society. Thus, They Awarded her Arms. Scroll by Lisabetta de Rossi.

Their Majesties summoned THLord Cassiano da Castello to present himself before Them. Cassiano has served as deputy seneschal of Nithgaard, and as a fencing marshal. Thus, They made him a Companion of the Keystone. Scroll by Ætt Skyti Scribal Guild.Their Majesties invited Lisabetta de Rossi before Them. They spoke of her skill with the scribal arts, and thus were moved to induct her into the Order of the Sycamore and Awarded her Arms. Scroll by Forveleth Dunde.THLady Elena de la Palma was called before Their Majesties. Her garb is a stunning example of what garb should be in the Society. Thus, They made her a Companion of the Golden Mirror. Scroll by Megge Gormshuileach.Their Majesties called for Lord Salvadore Maro de Medici. His skill at heavy combat has grown such that the Order of the Gage wished him to join them. Thus, Their Majesties named him a Companion of the Gage. Scroll by Christofano.

Their Majesties summoned Sir Murdoch Bayne to appear before Them. Upon confirming that it was still his wish to continue They summoned Their Order of the Laurel. Benedict Fergus atte Mede spoke as a member of the Order of Defense, Duke Magnus Tindal spoke as a member of the Order of the Chivalry, Earl Yngvar the Dismal and Countess Caryl Olesdatter spoke as Royal Peers, Baroness Ekaterina Volkova spoke as a member of the Order of the Laurel, and Mistress Rioghnach ny Rise spoke as a member of the Order of the Pelican on his behalf. Finding these words good, Their Majesties invested Murdoch with a Hood, a medallion, and a wreath, then They heard his oath, and They declared him a Master of the Laurel. Her Majesty called THLady Mairin O’Cadhla and named her Queen’s Inspiration and gave her a token.

Their Majesties called all the scribes, wordsmiths, and regalia wrights to join them and choose a gift from the scribal box.

Here begins the Report of the Court of Arnthor and Ceirech, King and Queen of Æthelmearc, at Corn Maze in the Shire of Abhainn Ciach Ghlais, November 5 AS 57. jorundr hinn rotinn, Silver Buccle Herald reporting.

In the morning:

Their Majesties summoned Baron Christian Goldenlock to attend Them. They remarked upon his growing martial prowess on the Heavy Weapons field, and upon conferring with the order inducted him into the Order of the Gage. First scroll by Kathryn MacLuing, second scroll by Forveleth Dunde.

Their Majesties called for Iollan Figge. His growing skill in thrown weapons, including placing as an alternate for the Pennsic Champion’s team, archery, and heavy combat impressed Their Majesties such that They inducted him into Their Order of the Golden Alce. Scroll by Scribal West.

Baron Silvester Burchardt was called by Their Majesties. They had words with Their Order of the Gage, and upon hearing from that order that it was their wish for him to join their number, Their Majesties named him a Companion of the Gage. Court suspended.

In the afternoon with the assistance of Magdalena Txoperena de Guerra and Gytha Oggsdottir, Silver Sycamore Herald:

Their Majesties called for Baron Christian Goldenlock, and commended to his care the Kingdom toy chest. They mercifully allowed him a head start before unleashing a torrent of Æthelmearc’s youth upon him.

Their Majesties invited Duke Timothy of Arindale, the Kingdom Earl Marshal to address the populace. He commended the efforts to get the authorization forms online, and stated that anyone who had a problem with it to speak with him directly.

Their Majesties called for all the newcomers to Æthelmearc to join Them. They welcomed them and gifted them with mugs.

Fox Fierlein was called by Their Majesties. Her skill in fencing had been noted, and thus They wished to Award her Arms. Scroll by Kolfinna Jodisardottir with words by Po Silvertop.

Their Majesties summoned Lady Mei Lan Hua. It was noted that her skill in the scribal arts is quite impressive. Their Majesties remarked that They quite happily handed out several of her scrolls in Their Courts. Thus, they inducted her into the Order of the Sycamore. Scroll by Zaritsa Zavodchikovna.

Their Majesties called Lord Davin ap Einion to present himself before Them. They spoke of how well put together his kit is, and how he looks the part every time he takes the field. Thus They inducted him into the Order of the Golden Stirrup. Scroll by Arden Scot.

Their Majesties called for Lady Nycaise d’Ozier la Tailleresse. Her garb is always impeccable and she works to improve it, as well as styling her hair in an appropriate style for a Norman lady. Thus, They made her a Companion of the Golden Mirror. Scroll by Katherine Kiersey.

Their Majesties had not seen enough of Baron Christian Goldenlock this day so once again called him before Them. Christian has very good taste in armor, and other weapons, and strives to always be as close to period as possible. Thus, They inducted him into the Order of the Golden Stirrup. Baron Leo Dietrich was called to present himself before Them. His work has not gone unnoticed, as marshal, master of the list, autocratting, and cooking to name but a few. Thus upon consultation with the Order they named him a Companion of the Millrind. Scroll by Gwen Cooke.

Their Majesties called for Master Aelric Ravenshaw. His long service in the multitude of groups founded in the northern panhandle of West Virginia caught Their attention. In celebration of this They named him a Baron of Their Court. Scroll in progress with words by Po Silvertop.

Their Majesties called all the scribes, wordsmiths, and regalia wrights to join them and choose a gift from the scribal box.

Their Majesties spoke of the Corsi Rosenthal boxes and encouraged all groups to read the documentation and work towards unmasked events.

Here begins the Report of the Court of Their Majesties Arnthor and Ceirech, King and Queen of Æthelmearc at the Æthelmearc Arts and Sciences Championship event in the Barony of the Rhydderich Hael, joined by Their Excellencies of the Rhydderich Hael, jorundr hinn rotinn, Silver Buccle Herald, reporting.

Their Majesties gave leave to Their Excellencies of the Rhydderich Hael to conduct Their Court.

Their Majesties thanked everyone for inspiring them to learn about and try new things with the displays and entries this day.

Their Majesties invited Master Hrolfr a Fjarfelli and Mistress Elska a Fjarfelli, the Kingdom Arts and Sciences Ministers to discuss the competition results. The overall winner, and new King’s Arts and Sciences Champion, was THLady Fede di Fiore, for her maternity dress project. There were two youth who participated this day, John Robert, the overall youth champion, and Charlotte, both were presented with tokens to commemorate their participation. The populace choice was Baron Snorri skyti Bjarnarson.

Lady Marguerite de Neufchasteau was called before Their Majesties to discuss her actions on the fields of fencing, archery, and thrown weapons. Her growing skill has been brought to Their Majesties’ attention, thus They inducted her in the Order of the Golden Alce. Scroll illuminated by Arianna of Wynthrope, calligraphy by Jonathan Blaecstan, and words by Sadira bint Wassouf.

Their Majesties called for Lord Meuric ap Gwillam to present himself before Them. They had heard much of his artistic endeavors. Most especially his research into period hide glue. Thus they inducted him into the Order of the Sycamore. Scroll by Gesa von Wellenstein.

Mistress Cori Ghora was summoned before Their Majesties. Mistress Cori never stops. She is constantly serving the Kingdom of Æthelmearc, supporting the scribes, and serving as seneschal. This pleases Their Majesties, and with utmost gratitude They bestowed on Cori an Augmentation of Arms. Her Majesty called Charlotte to attend Her. Her Majesty commended Charlotte’s skill and courage in playing the harp all day long as well as entering the competition today. For this Her Majesty named Charlotte Queen’s Inspiration for the day and gave her a token.

Their Majesties thanked the cooks for providing a tasty lunch and persevering through equipment issues. They further thanked those who helped dress Them for the event.

Court Report: Crown Tournament of Arnthor and Ceirech October 8th, 2022 AS 57

Here begins the Report of the Court of Arnthor and Ceirech, King and Queen of Æthelmearc, at Their Crown Tournament in the Barony of the Endless Hills, October 8 AS 57. jorundr hinn rotinn, Silver Buccle Herald, reporting.

On the field upon the conclusion of the Tournament. Their Majesties summoned Count Andreas Morgen and Countess Kallista Morgunova before Them. Count Andreas proved victorious this day, and upon him swearing his oath as Prince, King Arnthor placed the Heir’s Coronet upon his head and declared him Price of Æthelmearc. After hearing her oath, Prince Andreas placed the Heir’s Coronet on Kallista’s head and declared her Princess of Æthelmearc.

In the evening, joined by Their Highnesses Andreas and Kallista.

Their Majesties summoned Lord Patrokles Athenaios to present himself before Them. They bade him to take the Kingdom toy chest and assist the youth of the Kingdom in choosing a gift.

Their Majesties invited all the newcomers present to come forward. They were given gifts of mugs made by the artisans of the Kingdom.

Their Majesties invited Mistress Euriol of Lothian, the autocrat to address the populace. Mistress Euriol thanked everyone for coming and thanked her staff for assisting in making the event happen.

Their Majesties invited the Ladies of the Rose and Garnet present to join Them. They spoke of the deeds of honor done on the field this day, and so Master William de Montegilt, and THL Abdullah al-Rashid were given tokens to commemorate their actions. THL Jakob Krahe was summoned forth. His deeds of honor and chivalry surpassed all others this day, and thus the Ladies of the Rose and Garnet, along with Their Majesties bestowed on him the honor of holding the Shield of Chivalry.

The Monier’s Guild was allowed to present a gift of coins to commemorate this Crown Tournament to Their Majesties and Their Highnesses, and to remind the populace that if they had participated in the day’s games and predicted correctly, they should come by the Monier’s Guild table after Court.

Their Majesties summoned Their Excellencies of the Endless Hills to present themselves and swear Their Baronial Fealty.

Their Majesties called for Sir Tigernach mac Cathail the new Kingdom Exchequer to present himself and swear his oath of service for that office.

Their Majesties gave jorundr hinn rotinn permission to conduct some personal business during Court. Jorundr called before the Court Lord Daven McKenaugh to come forward. After releasing Daven from the cruel bonds of being a man at arms, the blue scarf of a cadet was placed upon Daven’s arm.

Lady Kolfina Jodisdottir was called before Their Majesties. Her service to the fencing community and her local group has reached Their Majesties’ ears. Thus, they indicted her into Their Order of the Keystone. The plate was formed by the hands of Silvester Burchardt with illumination and pyrography by Barbary Rose, and words by Po Silvertop.Their Majesties called for Lady Cristina Aurelia Vitelli to appear before Them. Word or her skill with Kumihimo and other arts has reached Them, and They felt it just to induct her into the Order of the Sycamore. His skill in heavy weapons and fencing have been growing, and news of his skill has reached Their Majesties. Thus, they inducted him into The Order of the Golden Alce. Scroll by Kathryn MacLuing.Tobias Rushton shows great prowess in heavy combat, so Their Majesties called him before Them and inducted him into the Order of the Golden Alce and awarded him Arms. Scroll by Kathryn MacLuing.Their Majesties called for THLady ÆsaHelgulfsdottir to present herself before Them. Her garb is always impeccable, and she always looks the part of a Norse Lady. Thus, they inducted her into the Order of the Golden Mirror. Scroll by Kolfina Jodisdottir with words by Po Silvertop.Their Majesties summoned Lord Ulfkell Dungelsson before Them. His growing skill with heavy weapons had reached the ears of Their Majesties through a certain order. Thus, Their Majesties did induct him into the Order of the Gage. Scroll by Murdoch Baine.

Their Majesties called Sir Murdoch Baine to present himself before Them. His growing skill, and some would say mastery of the scribal arts had caused Their Majesties to present him a writ of summons for his entry into the Order of the Laurel. Their Majesties thanked everyone for attending the event and wished them a safe trip home.
