Sadly, the town of Pittston, PA (in the Barony of Endless Hills) suffered a great loss this week when a car demolished their statue of Christopher Columbus, necessitating the removal of the statue until it can be replaced.
Lord Cormacc mac Gilla Brigde from Endless Hills stepped bravely into the void until the northeast Pennsylvania cold forced a retreat.
His feat was even picked up by local news, and he was later interviewed about his “shenanigans” both by an online newspaper and a local radio show.
The current gamut of Disney Princes. Could YOU reliably play a prince for a few hours?
This post is shared from the East Kingdom Facebook list:
Pennsic needs Princes! No, no, it’s not that Adam Brennan (Prince of the East) is insufficient, but they need DISNEY Princes for the Children’s Fete. (There are usually many Princesses, though the organizer would be glad of more – she’s trying to not have overlaps.)
Anyone interested in being a period Disney Prince (or Princess) for the Children’s Fete should PM me and I’ll connect you with the organizer.
It’s about 4 hours and you don’t have to be there for the whole time. I went as medieval Merida last year and it was a hoot. Loved every minute of it. I strongly suggest it!
Contact Monique Bouchard (Aneleda Falconbridge) on Facebook to volunteer or for more information. For a better idea of what happens at the Fete, please see last year’s Pennsic Independent article.
Greetings Most Awesome Kingdom in the Known World,
Before announcing this months contest.. It’s the winners from last month:
I am pleased to announce the winners from last months contest. Though we do not have awesome prizes you do have the right to put this on your SCA resumes and lord it over the heads of your friends who did not win.
Robert Peterson: ““My noble lords, I do not see any giants. All I see are windmills.””
Arianna “Come on, let’s keep looking, there has to be a better candidate for the fourth horseman. This guy just doesn’t have the right vibe for Famine…”
And the Winner
Aoife: “Does this duck make my butt look big? Seriously, guys, are you even looking? Pay attention. Does this duck make my butt look big?”
This month features two of Æthelmearc’s best; Duke Maynard and Sir Stefan Ulfkelsson. Please use the reply function to add your caption. Last month we had over 17 entries and a whole lot of viewers. Lets go for even more this month! Please make sure you hit like next to the captions you like as they count as votes. You can vote for all of them.
Greetings Most Awesome Kingdom in the Known World…. It is I, your happy go lucky Maestro De Giocco, or That Guy Phil with the 1st Photo caption contest of the Æthelmearc Gazette’s short existence. Today’s subject to be lampooned is yours truly sharing some cyber space with three of the most famous bogatyrs, Dobrynya Nikitich, Ilya Muromets and Alyosha Popovich, who are represented together in Victor Vasnetsov‘s 1898 painting Bogatyrs and a duck. The painting photoshopped was found on Wikpedia and claims to be available for sharing, and manipulation. I am doing both. Neither ducks nor Bogatyrs were harmed in the making of this.
I am thick skinned, so please have fun and let the jokes fly. Leave your captions in the comment boxes below
