The Report of the Court of Their Majesties Maynard and Liadain, King and Queen of Æthelmearc, with His Royal Majesty Eckehard, King of Atlantia, and Their Highnesses Gareth and Juliana, Prince and Princess of Æthelmearc in attendance, Court held at Æthelmearc Crown Tournament in the Shire of Misty Highlands on the Twenty-First day of August, anno Societatis LVI, Baron Brandubh O’Donnghaile, Jewel Herald, with the assistance of Drotinn Jorundr hinn rotinn, Silver Buccle Herald, THLady Katharine McClung, Millrind Herald, Lady Magdelena Txoperena, and THLord Owen Teg, Cornelian Herald.

Morning Court:

Their Majesties opened court and welcomed all in attendance, stating that They were well pleased to see so many familiar faces after such a long absence.

Their Excellencies Ichijo Honen and Cerridwen de Skene, Baron and Baroness of Blackstone Mountain, were summoned before the Court. Their Majesties spoke to Their Excellencies that after many long years in service to their Barony, that the time had come for them to step down. Their Excellencies heartily agreed, and asked that they be released. Their Majesties agreed to this request and presented each with a sock in Baronial Colors as a symbol of their freedom. Their Majesties now in possession of the Crown Lands of Blackstone Mountain then called forth the Baronial Seneschal, Hersir Marek Viacheldrago. Sir Marek assured Their Majesties that the populace of Blackstone Mountain had a plan in place, that they had conducted an election in accordance with all relevant laws and policies, and that they were prepared to present heirs to the Baronial Thrones to Their Majesties. Their Majesties then called for Baron Cunedda Kell and Baroness Alana Horsecroft to come forth, and they confirmed their willingness to take responsibility for the Barony of Blackstone Mountain. Their Majesties agreed that this was amenable to Them, and invested Cunedda and Alana as the seventh Baron and Baroness of the Barony of Blackstone Mountain, and received their Oath of Fealty.

Their Majesties then recalled Ichijo Honen and Cerridwen de Skene, and in thanks for their many years of service to the Barony of Blackstone Mountain created them a Baron and Baroness of the Court of Æthelmearc. After the Procession of Combatants:

Their Majesties summoned the companions of the Order of the Pelican and confirmed that a reception had been prepared for their candidate. They then called for the attendance of Master Illadore de Bedegrayne. Illadore confirmed her desire to join the Order of the Pelican and Their Majesties charged the Order to take her to her reception and give her their words.

At the Conclusion of the Tournament:

Their Majesties entered the Crown List and placed the Venerable Coronet of the Heir of the Sylvan Kingdom of Æthelmearc upon the brow of Duke Gareth Kincaid, proclaiming him Prince of Æthelmearc. They then presented Gareth with the Venerable Coronet of the Consort that he might crown his inspiration Duchess Juliana Delamare, and Their Majesties proclaimed her Princess of Æthelmearc.

Evening Court:

Their Majesties invited His Royal Majesty Eckehard, King of Atlantia, to join Them in Their Court. His Majesty Eckehard thanked Their Majesties for Their hospitality that day and presented gifts to Their Majesties and Their Highnesses in appreciation. Their Majesties also presented gifts to His Majesty Eckehard and welcomed him to Their Court.

The Ladies of the Order of the Rose and the Order of the Garnet were invited to come forward and discuss the Tournament of the Day accompanied by Maighster Kieran MacRae, holder of the Shield of Chivalry. Countess Alexandra of Clan Donald spoke to the Chivalry and prowess witnessed by His Highness Gareth in the list and presented him with a token of her esteem. Duchess Lynette Semere of Atlantia and Duchess Morgen of Rye both praised the grace and Courtesy of Sir Beatrix Krieger and presented her with a token. Her Highness Juliana then spoke to the skills of Lord Davin ap Einion and presented him with a token. Her Majesty then called for Lord Gregroy Hillson to come forth and asked that he carry the Æthelmearc Shield of Chivalry for his courtesy and joy in the lists.

Their Majesties summoned Their Sylvan Signets, Baroness Antoinette de la Croix and Baroness Shirn of Susa, to attend Them. Their Majesties thanked them both for their excellent service to Their Majesties and the Kingdom of Æthelmearc and released them from their office, proclaiming that Master Jonathan Blaecstan had taken the office of Sylvan Signet.

Their Majesties then presented Baroness Shirin of Susa with an Award of Excellence for her service, and presented Baroness Antoinette de la Croix with a Golden Escarbuncle, noting that she had never received this award, for her service in this very demanding office.

Duchess Siobhan inghean uí Liathain was invited into Their Majesties’ Court. Their Majesties also invited all youths in attendance to approach and asked that Duchess Siobhain assist the youths with choosing a token from the royal toy basket.

THLord Hrafn inn Trausti, Lady Rannveig Hraejshvelgsneys, and Lorelei were summoned into court. Their Majesties confirmed before all witnesses that They had signed letters with Their Majesties of the Middle Kingdom and were proud to present Hrafn, Rannveig, and their daughter Lorelei as Citizens of Æthelmearc.

All newcomers were invited to approach the Thrones, and Their Majesties presented each with a cup to welcome them all to Our Society.

Their Majesties bid Forveleth Dunde to stay in Their Court. Though this was her first royal court, she had been very busy during the time of the plague. She was exploring heraldry, scribal and fiber arts, hosting Zoom meetings, she had entered the Virtual Queen’s Prize Tourney, and now serves as Debatable Lands Exchequer. For this very auspicious beginning, Their Majesties were pleased to Award her Arms. Their Majesties Awarded Arms in absentia to Gredechin Morin de Nordenberg for her growing skills in archery, for her kindness and courtesy to all, and for participating in Arts and Sciences meetings. Scroll by THLady Kathryn MacLuing.

Yarden of the Debatable Lands was Awarded Arms in absentia for his skills in equestrian activities. He had been a mainstay of the Debatable Lands Equestrian community and participant in Known World Equestrian Challenges. Scroll by THLady Gesa von Wellenstein.

Nicole of the Debatable Lands was Awarded Arms in absentia for her service to the equestrian community. She served as grounds crew, setting and striking ranges, and producing new games and objects for games for the use of riders and walkers alike. Scroll by THLady Gesa von Wellenstein.

Their Majesties summoned forth the Moneyers Guild. They thanked the members of the guild for their skill, research, and generosity in creating coins for the Crowns of Æthelmearc, and contributing 700 struck coins for use at this Crown Tournament. Their Majesties then spoke that They had created a new award, the Crown’s Treasure, to recognize those individuals who substantially contribute in providing items to illustrate the largess of the Crown and Kingdom. Their Majesties then proudly proclaimed that the Moneyers Guild should be the Principal of this new award.

Lady Aurelie of Nithgaard was called into Court, and Their Majesties spoke to her of generosity. Lady Aurelie had demonstrated generosity with her time at demos and retaining, with her skills at teaching, and with her materials in clothing others and creating items for the Gold Key. Their Majesties invited Drotinn Jorundr hinn rotinn, Their Silver Buccle Herald, to join them in court. Drotinn Jorundr asked permission to conduct some business for his office. Their Majesties then called for Lady Dorothea Stark Schutz to attend and Jorundr presented her with the tabard for Golden Alce Herald and presented her to the Kingdom as the new Editor of the Order of Precedence.

Their Majesties also noted that Lady Dorothea Stark Schutz had worked hard for the glory of Æthelmearc, retaining for barony and kingdom, leading fencers on the field, cleaning event sites, and now working on the Order of Precedence, and so They inducted her into the Order of the Keystone. Baron Brandubh O’Donnghaile was then called upon to present himself in Court. Their Majesties spoke to him of his service in adversity. They called him a Pillar of Æthelmearc, he served as Baron of the Debatable Lands, had served the kingdom and many Crowns as Their Herald. Their Majesties were pleased to have him serve as Their Jewel Herald, but when the plague struck, Brandubh became a talk show host for the Kingdom, and when emergencies arose, he took back the office of Silver Buccle to help the Kingdom. For these things, Their Majesties Granted him an Augmentation of Arms, encouraging him to add the Demi-Escarbuncle to his own arms, and Her Majesty presented him with a Silver Escarbuncle from Her County Coronet to Brandubh. Lord Ronan O’Conaill was called into court and Their Majesties noted his wide service as archery marshal, brewer, herald, and chatelain, but it was the character of this service that impressed Them. No matter where he served, his kindness, courtesy, and cheerfulness always showed through while supporting others, and so They inducted him into the Order of the Cornelian. Their Majesties summoned Baroness Aine ny Allane to attend Them. They had seen her needlecraft decorate her garb and many others. Her embroidery and skills in creating garments moved Them to induct her into the Order of the Sycamore. Lady Nicola Beese was called into court, and Their Majesties spoke of her Diverse Arts including scribal, from making animal hides into parchment and making ink to producing finished scrolls, and decorating eggs. Their Majesties then inducted her into the Order of the Fleur d’Æthelmearc. Their Majesties called forth THLady Sumayya al Gaziyah and thanked her for her service to the Kingdom of Æthelmearc as Kingdom Social Media Officer. Sumayya had worked as part of the team to bring Zoom to Æthelmearc, she trained Zoom moderators, and hosted many meetings and events online, and reminded the populace to be polite in online forums during these strange times of plague. For this invaluable Service to Æthelmearc, They inducted Sumayya into the Order of the Millrind. Painted Scroll by the hands of Lady Rose O’Tierrany, upon a text by Baron Arias Beltran del Valle.

Master Illadore de Bedegrayne was summoned to attend the Court. As Illadore entered, she thanked those who had empowered her to accomplish her deeds in the society. Their Majesties then asked if it was her intent to enter the Order of the Pelican. Upon her assent, Their Majesties invited the members of the Order of the Pelican to attend these proceedings who replied that they would have Illadore join them. Their Majesties called for a Quinn to speak and Master Quinn Kerr claimed the honor of speaking the praise of Illadore. Their Majesties needing no further testimony, then called for the regalia to mark Illadore as a Pelican. Mistress Aine O’Muirghesan presented the Ancestral Medallion of the Pelicans of Æthelmearc. Baroness Kilde Jurgenstochter presented a personal medallion, Kilde further presented a Cap of Maintenance that was a gift from Master Aaron Harper and Mistress Iselda de Narbonne of Atlantia, Mistress Irene von Schmetterling created a white collar decorated with Laurels and Pelicans, and Illadore was presented with a new silk banner displaying the Orders in which she claimed membership. Their Majesties then summoned Their Royal Steward, Dame Ursula of Rouen. They spoke to her of her service to Their Reign and those of so many other Reigns in Æthelmearc. She provided wise guidance and support, she facilitated AE Live, and served as an influencer and cheerleader on social media, all while leading the reign staff. In thanks for her service, guidance and support Their Majesties created her a Baroness of Their Court. The Autocrat of the Event, Baron Arias Beltran del Valle, was invited to speak in court. All were very pleased that Crown Tourney was finally able to be hosted in Misty Highlands. Baron Arias wished to acknowledge the generous owners and staff of the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum who had allowed Æthelmearc to use their lawns for Crown Tournament for free. Their Majesties in turn thanked Baron Arias and his staff for their work that day, and They presented Arias with a Gratie Coronae token for his efforts through the pandemic to ensure that Æthelmearc could have a Crown Tournament.

Her Majesty noted that She had named Sir Bear the Wallsbane as Her inspiration for the day. Sir Bear had stood as an institution of Æthelmearc Crown Tournaments and still published his betting guide for all entrants.

Their Majesties invited all scribes and regalia makers who had contributed to Their Court to come forward and receive a token in appreciation.

Their Majesties thanked all of the populace for attending to witness the tournament and all who had entered and assisted in the operation of the tournament.

His Majesty Atlantia Eckehard thanked Their Majesties and all of Æthelmearc for Their hospitality throughout the event, and it was a pleasure for Him to witness Æthelmearc ’s Tournament.

Their Highnesses Gareth and Juliana thanked all entrants of the Tournament. His Highness noted that all of his opponents in the list had comported themselves with a high degree of Honor, and it gave him joy to have such chivalrous fights.

Their Majesties once again thanked Æthelmearc and Misty Highlands for a great event, and were overjoyed to announce that Æthelmearc has Heirs!
